RTR is offering a $2,500 Sign on Bonus for New Full Time Hires! 

Provide direct support and training to individuals with disabilities in community-based, employment settings, which include OPTS Centers, supported employment sites and individual job placement.  This position works in conjunction with the Case Management, Program Director, and Job Placement staff to promote an individual’s readiness for community-based employment and performs related activities relative to employment. This position may also require direct support and training in a more intensely supervised group environment of which a rate differential will be applied.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Provide on-the-job training and supervision to individuals in a 1:1 or group format at community-based, business locations, and RTR OPTS centers. Any of these sites, including SEP community sites businesses, may be equipped with surveillance cameras and you may be videotaped during your time there.

• Provide written job assessments, complete daily behavior data, and behavior data as assigned.

• Prepare reports in accordance with state and agency requirements.

• Work in cooperation with the Case Worker/Manager to establish and implement employment and behavioral objectives. Communicates all related worker issues to designated Case Worker/Manager.

• Serve as a liaison between RTR, families, referral agencies and host companies representing a positive and pro-active attitude at all times while meeting the workflow requirements set by the company.

• Provide job support and/or functional skills training in a variety of community-based businesses and/or settings.

• Serve as an appropriate role model for individuals under supervision establishing behavioral limits in a positive consistent manner and in accordance with behavioral plans.

• Attend mandated Safety Care training. Responsible for implementing physical restraints on the individuals we support to assist with behavioral management.

• This may include, but not limited to, hitting, biting, kicking, and spitting.

• Cooperate and interact with co-workers, clients, volunteers, and funders in a collaborative, courteous, empathic, and professional manner. Demonstrate willingness and ability to be part of a team effort.

• Participate in the Positive Behavior Support initiative and complete the Quality Behavior Curriculum.

• Provide transportation to host companies as needed.

• Adhere to all applicable procedures for each host company.

• Engage in remote/virtual services with program members following a pre-planned curriculum. This includes the ability to use a computer and the ability to engage several individuals for an extended period of time, typically one hour or less. You may be asked to develop new curriculums to meet the needs of the individuals under your care.

• Expected to follow current OPTS/Day Hab guidelines based on DDS/MassHealth regulations as they relate to the COVID-19 virus. This includes daily health screening and wearing appropriate PPE as defined in the guidelines.

• Assist and support individuals as needed with physical direct care. May include: physical or mechanical transfer to a van, chair, toileting, etc.

• Attend all required meetings.

• Adhere to all program routines and schedules.

• Adhere to the schedules and needs of RTR, the schedules and needs of individuals under supervision and the schedules and needs of customers/host companies.

• Participate in on-the-job training and provide coaching to new co-workers as directed.

• Dress in a manner that reflects the corporate culture of the specific business in which the individual or individuals are placed.

• Adhere to agency safety standards.

• Perform additional duties, or substitute for others as required. Perform additional duties, or substitute for others as required. Additional duties may include but are not limited to clearing snow and ice from walkways, vehicles, parking lots, and roads using equipment like shovels and snow blowers while applying deicing agents to ensure safety

• Adhere to all RTR policies and procedures.

• Develop and provide all services in accordance with RTR’s philosophies including staff and Board beliefs.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Valid Driver’s License.

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and the internet.

• Successful completion of all state and agency mandated trainings.

• Must be willing to authorize a Criminal History Background Check (CORI) and release of information concerning allegations from Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and other agencies.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be fluent in English and have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to communicate effectively with individuals under supervision, employees of the organization, families, and members of the community.
