Job Title: Underground Foreman
Location: Kennedale, Texas
Reports To: Project Manager/Superintendent
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Underground Foreman with a strong background in electrical systems to oversee and manage our projects. The ideal candidate will lead a team of workers, ensure safety and quality standards, and collaborate with project managers to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities, focusing on electrical systems and installations.
- Team Leadership: Manage and direct a team of electricians and other construction workers, assigning tasks and ensuring productivity.
- Planning and Scheduling: Interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and project plans to prepare schedules and allocate resources efficiently.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, company policies, and local building codes.
- Quality Control: Inspect and monitor electrical installations and construction work to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
- Problem-Solving: Address on-site issues promptly, such as design modifications or resource constraints.
- Collaboration: Communicate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to coordinate activities and resolve issues.
- Material Management: Oversee inventory and order electrical and construction materials as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain records of work progress, site conditions, and worker attendance.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Underground Foreman, ideally with traffic signal systems.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and best practices.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of construction tools, machinery, and materials.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in using basic computer applications.
Education and Certifications:
- TRF 450 (preferred or willing to obtain)
- OSHA certification (or willingness to obtain).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift, and climb for extended periods.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
