Position: Field Safety Manger. Canton, Mississippi
Summary Description: The Field Safety Manager directs, leads, over-sees, and coordinates the execution of the company’s safety program and assists with various risk and compliance matters, including claims and field operational risks.
This position will provide support to the Health and Safety department at an active construction site in Canton, MS.

Preferred Qualifications:
- At least three years of experience managing a safety program.
- Exceptional relationship building skills, listening skills, and communication skills.
- OSHA 30 Certified, along with other professional certifications related to the construction industry, such as COSS, COSM, CSP, CHST, and OHST.
- Proficient in various software programs, including MS Office Suite and Procore.
- Tech-savvy, including the ability to implement new technologies for benefit of the company’s safety program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with Process by setting strategy for the company’s safety program; actively participating in the company’s Safety Committee; creating, implementing, and managing Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), return to work programs, training programs, and jobsite-specific safety plans; keeping the company’s senior management abreast with industry’s best practices, legislative and regulatory changes, including those of Occupational Safety and Health Agency (OSHA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the company’s obligations under such practices and changes and how they impact the company and its operations; supporting the company’s Risk & Safety Department in embedding a risk-aware culture, especially in field operations; identifying ways to improve the company’s safety performance; ensuring that the appropriate measurements and metrics are in place to monitor the performance, effectiveness, and accountability of the company’s safety program; developing, coordinating, scheduling, conducting, and assisting in the creation of content for training and safety events, including new-hire orientation and the company’s annual S.A.F.E. Day; refining and maintaining the company’s lessons-learned library; Assisting superintendents, project managers, and project engineers in documenting, recording, and resolving any Risk and Safety concerns; Continually driving for enhanced efficiency and service in all internal and external risk and compliance processes; Creating cost efficiencies through process improvement; and supporting and utilization of various company initiatives and technologies.
- Manage Safety Operations by managing the company’s safety program in field operations; Maintaining, improving, and championing the company’s safety culture; Providing continual education, training, and support to the company’s staff regarding safety, quality-control, compliance, insurance, and contractual matters; Ensuring that all employees, subcontractors, and worksite-visitors adhere to and comply with the company’s safety policies, procedures, and practices, as well as all applicable laws, rules, and regulations concerning occupational health and safety and the protection of the environment, including those of OSHA, the EPA, and any other governmental agency; Conducting internal field audits to ensure that the project teams are adhering to and complying with the project-specific safety plan and that applicable quality-control programs and field work is being performed in a safe and efficient manner; Proactively assessing and mitigating current and potential occupational hazards, including conducting horizon-scans; Attending and participating in meetings, including meetings with RNGD management, clients, subcontractors, and government agencies; Participating in meetings to identify “at risk” subcontractors; Utilizing technology and industry advancements to update and improve the company’s safety program, including training programs; manage all jobsite incidents, including investigations and reporting.
- Build Relationships by developing, leading, and motivating the RNGD staff and subcontractors; Acting as a liaison between the company’s Risk and Safety department and various parties regarding various types of incidents and/or claims; Upholding brand standards and continuously reinforcing the company’s core values and manifesto, always leading by example.
- Analyze and Report by maintaining project-specific scorecards and data-logs; Proactively assessing and mitigating risk; Preparing and submitting progress reports concerning safety, compliance, and quality control; Preparing and submitting monthly trending reports; Reviewing and analyzing loss control and trending reports and collaborating Risk and Safety team on action-plans; and providing regular field reports detailing any current issues or information as required regarding safety and quality-control.
