Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled AV Installer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the professional installation, configuration, and maintenance of audio/visual systems at customer sites. Shift availability includes both 1st and 2nd shift, with scheduling driven by customer needs. Each workday is structured as an 8-hour shift. A valid driver's license is required and ability to drive a box truck, as travel to various job sites is a core part of this position.
Duties
- Install, mount, and configure AV equipment including displays, projectors, speakers, amplifiers, microphones, and control systems
- Run, terminate, and label audio, video, and control cabling including HDMI, Cat6, fiber, and speaker wire
- Build and organize equipment racks, including mounting hardware, cable management, and labeling all components to spec
- Perform system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting to ensure all AV equipment operates correctly before handoff
- Read and interpret installation drawings, rack elevations, and signal flow diagrams to execute projects accurately
- Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and on-site personnel to meet installation deadlines
- Conduct end-user orientations and walkthroughs, training customers on how to operate installed systems
- Perform preventive maintenance and service calls on existing AV systems, diagnosing and resolving technical issues in the field
- Maintain accurate documentation of completed work, inventory logs, and site-specific as-built records
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including working on ladders, lifts, and in raised ceiling environments
Qualifications
Must Have
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive a box truck
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Nice to Have
- CTS/CTS-I — offered by AVIXA
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 — important for job site safety compliance
- Lift/aerial work platform certifications — often required for working at height
