Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sonographer to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, along with proficiency in medical terminology. This role involves performing diagnostic imaging procedures using ultrasound technology to assist in the evaluation and diagnosis of various medical conditions. The Sonographer will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound examinations on patients, ensuring the highest quality images are obtained for diagnostic purposes.
- Collaborate with physicians to discuss findings and provide insights based on ultrasound results.
- Maintain accurate patient records, documenting procedures performed and any relevant observations.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated, reporting any malfunctions or issues promptly.
- Educate patients about the ultrasound process, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures at all times.
- Stay updated on advancements in sonography techniques and technologies, including CT and mammography.
Qualifications
- A recognised qualification in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is essential.
- Experience in performing various ultrasound examinations; experience in mammography is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills are required for accurate record keeping.
