We're seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager & Construction Project Manager to join our team in Richmond, Virginia.
About the Role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will:
- Lead and manage complex commercial projects (renovations, interior upfits, selective new construction)
- Serve as a mentor and leader to Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers
- Work directly with company leadership to improve processes, elevate standards, and grow the team
- Be a key point of contact for clients, ensuring strong relationships and repeat business
- Bring a solutions-first mindset to challenges in the field and in preconstruction
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Perform detailed constructability and scope reviews
- Manage subcontractor buyout, negotiation, and contracts
- Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, and documentation workflows
- Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets
- Coordinate with field teams to ensure efficient execution
- Identify risks early and proactively solve problems before they impact the schedule or cost
- Support preconstruction and business development efforts
- Help train, mentor, and elevate the internal project management team
Qualifications
- 8 years of commercial construction project management experience
- Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong background in:
- Complex renovations
- Interior upfits / tenant improvements
- Some ground-up construction
- Deep understanding of construction sequencing and field operations
- Strong working knowledge of MEP systems
- Ability to lead people, not just manage projects
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Highly organized, proactive, and solution-oriented
- Comfortable making decisions and taking ownership
