What You’ll Do
- Lead the field execution of large utility-scale Turn-Key and EPC projects
- Serve as the primary site contact for client project teams throughout construction
- Ensure implementation of Project Execution Plans and manage quality to minimize rework
- Participate in early project planning and enforce adherence to schedules for construction, testing, and commissioning
- Support the Project Manager in staffing and resource planning for craft and field teams
- Oversee the selection of tools, materials, and equipment while controlling delivery timelines and cost
- Foster a proactive safety culture and ensure adherence to RMS Energy’s safety program
- Manage vendor and subcontractor relationships to ensure contract compliance and quality outcomes
- Conduct QA and safety inspections; verify proper use of equipment and safe conditions
- Troubleshoot issues and gain consensus on solutions to delays or disruptions
- Resolve disputes with subs, vendors, or clients to maintain workflow
- Assist in contingency planning and scheduling to meet deadlines
- Keep the Project Manager informed on status updates related to safety, quality, risk, and team support
- Collaborate with the PM on construction budgets, productivity tracking, and scheduling
- Contribute to monthly forecasting and reporting
- Lead post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned
- Track and mitigate recurring field execution issues
- 10 years managing field construction for utility-scale generation projects, including high-voltage infrastructure
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional site teams and subcontractors
- Strong customer service orientation and experience in presenting to stakeholders
- Proven track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget
- Skilled in construction scheduling, forecasting, and productivity tracking
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and other project management tools
- Experience coordinating with project management, engineering, and field operations
- Strong understanding of QA/QC practices, risk mitigation, and compliance
- Willingness to travel up to 60% across the U.S.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must successfully complete a background check and pre-employment/random drug tests
- Available for extended and irregular hours as needed
- Able to work outdoors in all weather, at heights (100 ft), and around high-voltage equipment and heavy machinery
- Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and enduring sustained physical activity
- Must have clear vision, hearing, and English proficiency for safe and effective communication
- PMP certification or other project management credentials
- Prior experience managing electrical construction projects in government (state/federal) contracts
- Background in utility substation, transmission line, or switchyard construction
- Experience with scenario-based planning and alternative work strategies
- Familiarity with preconstruction document control and field productivity reporting tools
