Job Title: Engineer
Position Overview
RMGS, Inc. is currently recruiting an Engineer in Coronado, California, or Virginia Beach, Virginia. This position is contingent upon contract award.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Identify project requirements and develop design criteria
- Produce detailed designs, specifications, cost estimates, and instructions
- Provide expert consulting for facility planning, design, and construction
- Advise on planning, budgeting, scheduling, and technical matters
- Oversee and track design and construction project execution
- Conduct or coordinate site investigations to assess project feasibility
- Review designs, cost estimates, and technical documents to support timely project execution
- Ensure architectural and engineering plans meet all requirements
- Analyze costs and develop plans to address deficiencies
- Manage contracts for maintenance, repair, renovation, and new construction
- Participate in planning studies and review related documentation
- Represent the organization in engineering meetings with external agencies
- Develop and implement program plans to meet design, budget, and schedule timelines
- Monitor project status and recommend design/construction awards and funding actions
- Coordinate with construction agents on bids and funding adjustments
- Resolve construction issues by developing alternatives and coordinating technical solutions
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture
- Active Secret or higher security clearance
- Advanced degree and/or professional certification (Professional Engineer or Registered Architect) is highly desirable
- At least 8 years’ experience in engineering or architecture field
- At least 8 years’ experience executing and delivering technical facility design and construction projects
- At least 4 years’ experience in a military environment
- At least 4 years’ experience with facilities acquisition, bids and proposals, and construction
