Occupational Therapist

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Occupational Therapist plans and implements specific treatment programs for patients according to the principles and practices of Occupational Therapy. The Occupational Therapist also collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment, assists Quality Assurance/Improvement programs, and supervises Occupational Therapy Assistants

QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a bachelor's or master's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program and have a current license to practice in the State of Louisiana. Desirable characteristics include a proficiency in written and verbal communication, the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, and the ability to work independently as well as function as a Team Member. Must be able to adapt to a changing environment.

Must be able to perform and direct work according to departmental standards when no direction is given.

Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress.

Must be able to care for patients of all ages in a variety of classifications (may include criminal and mentally ill patients).
