LPN - Med Surg

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Licensed Practical Nurse shall be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating all assigned patients according to age and developmental status, in collaboration with the Registered Nurse, who will serve as charge nurse, during the assigned shift. Accountable for all patient care given during a shift. Responsible for adhering to all standards of Nursing Practice, managing supplies and equipment under the direction of the Registered Nurse, and promoting teamwork between physician and personnel of other departments

Must follow accepted safety practices for patients and clinic; report safety hazards and initiate appropriate action and must participate in safety instructional programs.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a current Louisiana Licensed Practical Nurse license and exhibit proficiency in nursing care and oral communications. Must possess a current BLS from either the American Heart Association or Red Cross.

Desirable characteristics include at least two years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment.

Must be able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards when no directions are given.

Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress.
