Compensation: $100,000 - $150,000
We are seeking a Senior Embryologist to gain hands-on experience in clinical laboratory services. You will support various laboratory processes and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
- Prepare all laboratory materials for IVF procedures and the andrology laboratory.
- Prepare dishes, identify and grade retrieved oocytes, prepare sperm for insemination, inseminate oocytes, evaluate oocytes for fertilization, strip oocytes for ICSI, perform assisted hatching, and conduct vitrification/warming of embryos.
- Monitor embryo growth and quality at both cleavage and blastocyst stages.
- Perform semen analyses, sperm preparation for intrauterine insemination, semen cryopreservation, thawing, and endocrinology testing as needed.
- Perform vitrification and warming of oocytes.
- Perform intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).
- Conduct embryo biopsies and prepare for Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT).
- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly quality control procedures in the laboratories.
- Act promptly on out-of-range parameters and equipment malfunctions according to established policies and procedures.
- Assist in preventative maintenance programs as designed by the laboratory director.
- Perform quality control testing of contact materials and media, including the human sperm survival assay and mouse embryo assays.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Reproductive Biology, or a related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with high complexity testing required.
- 6-10 years relevant experience; required.
- Certification from the American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB) or equivalent; preferred.
- Proficiency with key embryology techniques such as ICSI, embryo biopsy, and vitrification.
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
