Vice President, Growth (SLED) Job Description

II. Position Summary:

Our client is seeking a Vice President, Growth (SLED) to lead new client acquisition for their Education and Public Sector division, a core and high-growth business unit serving school districts, higher education institutions, and local government agencies across the United States, with a strong foundation in Texas.


The Vice President, Growth (SLED) role is focused on building pipelines, opening doors, and driving new revenue, and is responsible for the performance of the Education & Government division in North America. The ideal candidate brings a deep network within the SLED ecosystem and a proven track record of winning new business in complex, relationship-driven environments.


The VP, Growth (SLED) will be both a business builder and trusted partner to clients, responsible for expanding the company's footprint, strengthening client relationships, and overseeing end-to-end operational excellence.


The VP role will bring deep expertise in the State, Local, and Education (SLED) market, including an intimate understanding of how Texas public school systems operate - from funding mechanisms and procurement processes to stakeholder dynamics and policy environments.


III. Position Responsibilities:

The Vice President, Growth (SLED) position reports directly to the Senior Vice President, USA and serves as a key member of our client's North American leadership team.


The VP, Growth (SLED) will define and execute the long-term growth strategy for the company's Education & Government division, with a near-term focus on strengthening the firm’s leadership position in Texas.


The VP will identify market trends, legislative changes, and technology advancements that shape the SLED landscape. The VP will also translate the company's technology, design, and advisory capabilities into solutions that address the unique challenges of schools, districts, municipalities, and higher education institutions.


Position Responsibilities:

The VP's primary focus is new business development and client acquisition, including the following duties and responsibilities.


Business Building:

  • Own and drive new client acquisition across the Education & Government division.
  • Develop and execute a targeted strategy to penetrate new school districts, municipalities, and agencies.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities, and lead early-stage client engagement.
  • Convert opportunities into signed engagements in collaboration with delivery and technical teams.


Market Expansion and Relationships:

  • Leverage existing relationships and develop new ones with Superintendents, CIOs / CTOs, Facilities and bond program leaders, and Architects and program managers.
  • Identify and pursue new geographic and institutional markets
  • Establish the company as a trusted advisor in the Texas SLED ecosystem and beyond.
  • Represent the company in key industry forums, associations, and conferences related to public education and local government technology.


Market Strategy & Execution:

  • Partner with internal leadership to refine and execute the company’s SLED market strategy.
  • Help shape messaging, positioning, and offerings based on market feedback.
  • Collaborate with marketing and leadership on targeted campaigns and industry presence.
  • Oversee large-scale programs to ensure delivery of excellence and measurable client outcomes.


Strategic Partnerships:

  • Develop relationships with architects, integrators, consultants, and ecosystem partners that influence public sector projects.
  • Manage key client relationships at the superintendent, CIO/CTO, and agency levels.
  • Identify partnership opportunities that create new pathways to client relationships and engagements.
  • Build trusted partnerships with state and local officials, regional education service centers, architects, and consulting partners.


IV. Position Requirements:

Candidates for the Vice President, Growth (SLED) position must be able to perform the following duties to be considered qualified for this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required or preferred for the VP, Growth (SLED) position.


Position Requirements:

  • 10–15 years of experience in the SLED (State, Local, Education) market.
  • Proven track record of winning new business, not just growing existing accounts.
  • Deep network within Texas education and/or public sector ecosystem.
  • Experience selling complex, consultative services, technology, infrastructure, advisory, or design.
  • Strong understanding of public sector procurement, including funding structures, Bond programs, RFP processes, state and local appropriations, and procurement cycles and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and execute a growth strategy at scale
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a track record of building trusted partnerships with senior stakeholders within government and education
  • Phenomenal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills; Ability to influence at the C-suite and board level.
  • High integrity and commitment to transparency, accountability, and servant leadership.
  • Willingness to travel and represent the company in diverse markets and forums across the United States.


Key Performance Indicators:

  • Number of new clients acquired.
  • Pipeline value created (quarterly/annually).
  • Revenue generated from new clients.
  • Expansion into new districts, agencies, and markets.


V. Location & Relocation:

Open to candidates outside the local area in Texas. Relocation assistance provided to the successful candidate.

VI. Compensation & Benefits Package:
