What are the responsibilities and job description for the Offset Press Operator position at RLG Healthcare?
We are seeking a Press Operator to join our team in Commack, NY.
In this position, the Press Operator is responsible for setting up and operating the printing press to produce carton/ box and related products.
Responsibilities:
- Reads job orders and loads paper into the press
- Fill the fountains
- Cleans plates and print cylinders
- Performs daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance as required
- Keeps work areas clean and organized, maintains housekeeping standards
- Helps pressman with putting loads out of the press
- Speed loads press feeder
- Clean blankets, as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 4 years of flexographic printing press experience is required
- KBA sheeted press, 8 color & 9 color, experience is required.
- Familiarity Experience working with Mark Andy Flexo P5 or P7 required
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Must be able to read and interpret rulers, scales and other measurement devices
- Adherent to all safety procedures and guidelines related to operating machinery
- Superb attention to detail and product quality
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- Regularly exposed to noise, dust, odors and oils
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure to meet tight deadlines
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment (24-hour turnaround on product)
- Aptitude for mechanical operation
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance
- Excellent attendance and punctuality - accurately record work time on a daily basis
- Able to operate a computer and time clock machines

Compensation: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
