About the role
The Environmental Compliance Coordinator ensures compliance with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations by monitoring legislative frameworks, assessing producer obligations, and developing compliance plans. This role manages producer data, submits compliant reports, and prepares submissions to EPR program operators. The Compliance Coordinator also monitors collection networks, research evolving regulations, and collaborates with internal teams to support clients in meeting environmental obligations.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and documentation of EPR legislative frameworks
- Assessment of producer obligations against EPR legislative and program requirements, delivery of reports to producers
- Development and execution of compliance plans for producers
- Management of producer sales data and product characterization data
- Submitting compliant reports on behalf of clients on time as required
- Application of producer data to EPR program rules, preparation of submissions to EPR program operators
- Coordination of client information relevant for processing of invoices, i.e. key contact information
- Research and documentation on regulations pertaining to areas of growth across Canada
- Monitoring of collection network locations and operations against regulatory requirements
- Monitoring of other compliance requirements (performance reports, audits) against PRO operations
- Collaborate with RLG’s head office ECM team for delivery of client services
- Other duties as assigned
What we need from you
- Minimum one (1) years’ experience working in the environmental, policy or sustainability industry
- Post-secondary education
- Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation development skills, with the ability to understand, synthesize and clearly communicate complex information in an appropriate tone or voice to various internal stakeholders
- Verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to draft presentations and present to external clients
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, in particular SharePoint and PowerPoint
- Motivated and confident self-starter with the ability to accomplish goals and meet deadlines with minimal oversight
- Highly organized, efficient and accurate
- Highly collaborative and able to manage relationships with local and international teams within a cross-functional team structure
- Competent when working independently, and within teams
