Duties
- Lead and supervise assembly line operations during the 2nd shift, ensuring production targets are met efficiently and safely
- Coordinate daily tasks for assembly technicians, assigning work and monitoring progress to optimize workflow
- Ensure all assembly activities adhere to safety protocols and company policies, promoting a safe working environment
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and mechanical knowledge to assist with complex assembly tasks when necessary
- Conduct quality checks on assembled products to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
- Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and inventory logs for tracking progress and identifying areas for improvement
- Train new team members on assembly procedures, safety practices, and equipment use including forklift operation if certified
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies and recommending solutions
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and minimize downtime
- Uphold warehouse experience standards by managing material flow and ensuring proper storage of components
Skills
- Proven experience in manufacturing or factory environments with a focus on assembly line operations
- Mechanical knowledge coupled with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools in an industrial setting
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; forklift certification is preferred or required upon hire
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively during the second shift
- Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of warehouse procedures including inventory management and material handling
- Familiarity with manufacturing safety standards and protocols to maintain a secure workplace
- Effective communication skills for clear instruction, reporting, and teamwork
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing facility with assembly line processes is highly desirable
