Assembly Department Lead 2nd Shift

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Assembly Department Lead for the 2nd shift to oversee daily operations within our manufacturing facility. Duties

• Lead and supervise assembly line operations during the 2nd shift, ensuring production targets are met efficiently and safely
• Coordinate daily tasks for assembly technicians, assigning work and monitoring progress to optimize workflow
• Ensure all assembly activities adhere to safety protocols and company policies, promoting a safe working environment
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and mechanical knowledge to assist with complex assembly tasks when necessary
• Conduct quality checks on assembled products to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
• Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and inventory logs for tracking progress and identifying areas for improvement
• Train new team members on assembly procedures, safety practices, and equipment use including forklift operation if certified
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies and recommending solutions
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and minimize downtime
• Uphold warehouse experience standards by managing material flow and ensuring proper storage of components

Skills

• Proven experience in manufacturing or factory environments with a focus on assembly line operations
• Mechanical knowledge coupled with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools in an industrial setting
• Ability to operate forklifts safely; forklift certification is preferred or required upon hire
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively during the second shift
• Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of warehouse procedures including inventory management and material handling
• Familiarity with manufacturing safety standards and protocols to maintain a secure workplace
• Effective communication skills for clear instruction, reporting, and teamwork
• Prior experience working in a manufacturing facility with assembly line processes is highly desirable

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
