Role Description The Public Relations Intern (for credit) will support the RKc- team with day-to-day PR activities in an on-site role based in New York, NY. Responsibilities include assisting with drafting press materials, building and updating media lists, and tracking press coverage and client mentions. The intern will help coordinate sample pulls, organize press clippings, and support event preparation and logistics as needed. Daily tasks may also involve research on media outlets and industry trends, as well as administrative support for the communications team. This internship role is designed to provide hands-on experience in fashion, design, and lifestyle PR while earning academic credit.
Qualifications
- Ability to create and support press materials, including Press Releases, with attention to detail and clarity.
- Foundational knowledge of Public Relations and Strategic Communications, with interest in fashion, design, and lifestyle sectors.
- Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal, and comfort interacting with internal teams and external partners.
- Interest or experience in Media Relations, including researching outlets, identifying relevant contacts, and tracking coverage.
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program and eligible to receive academic credit for the internship.
- Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, on-site agency environment.
- Proficiency with standard office and communication tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, presentation software); familiarity with PR or media databases is a plus.
- Demonstrated interest in communications, marketing, fashion, or related fields through coursework, projects, or prior experience.
