Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Construction Laborer to join our team. In this role, you will be a part of renovating barn structures, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to high standards. Your hands-on skills and attention to detail will contribute directly to the successful execution of diverse construction projects, from steel siding/roofing, masonry, timber structure repair and foundation work. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise in various aspects of construction work while working in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and setup of construction sites, including unloading materials and organizing tools
- Perform heavy lifting and manual labor tasks such as carrying supplies, materials, and equipment around the site
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely to support tasks like framing, formwork construction, and concrete finishing
- Support concrete pouring, cutting, mixing with concrete mixers, and finishing operations to ensure smooth surfaces
- Install rebar, metal studs, formwork, and other structural components following specified verbal direction.
Skills
- Knowledge relevant to construction tools
- Proficiency in concrete forming, concrete cutting, pouring, finishing, and related masonry skills
- Familiarity with construction workplace safety regulations and adherence to safety protocols at all times
- Skills in carpentry including framing, steel roofing, steel siding, drain tile laying, restoration work or masonry work are advantageous
- Experience working on diverse construction projects such as renovations or commercial builds using power tools and hand tools effectively
- Capable of heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks required on construction sites
- Valid driver’s license for commercial driving or operating heavy equipment (preferred)
