Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements, ensuring a smooth flow of service from start to finish
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as TOAST POS and relay orders efficiently to the kitchen and bar staff
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, recommend specials, and upsell items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation, sanitation, and food safety protocols
- Manage guest relations by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring a positive dining experience
- Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering systems; process payments using POS terminals and manage cash handling responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, bussing tables, cleaning workstations, and supporting kitchen staff as needed in a fast-paced environment such as fine dining or nightlife venues
Skills
- Proven experience as a server in food service establishments, including fine dining or nightclub settings
- Strong knowledge of POS systems like Aloha POS, Micros POS, and OpenTable for reservations and order management
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously
- Culinary experience or familiarity with food handling, sanitation standards, and basic food preparation techniques
- Exceptional time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy hours
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to maximize sales opportunities
- Experience in bussing tables, host/hostess duties, or supporting kitchen operations is a plus
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and inventory management
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices within the food industry
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and guests
