Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and polished Waiter to join our service team at The Field Club of Greenwich. The ideal candidate will bring a refined sense of hospitality, attention to detail, and the ability to foster warm, long-term relationships with members and their guests. This role requires professionalism, discretion, and consistency in providing high-level dining experiences that reflect the traditions and standards of the Club.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide gracious, attentive, and personalized service to members and their guests, ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
- Develop familiarity with members’ preferences and anticipate needs to create a seamless dining experience.
- Guide members through menus, offering informed recommendations on food, wine, and beverage pairings.
- Accurately take and deliver orders, ensuring special requests and dietary needs are communicated and executed with care.
- Maintain polished dining areas, ensuring all tables and service stations are prepared for service.
- Work collaboratively with fellow service staff, chefs, and management to ensure smooth, coordinated service.
- Handle member concerns or requests with the utmost professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.
- Support and mentor newer staff to uphold club service standards.
- Uphold the traditions and culture of the Club through consistency, courtesy, and professionalism.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of food, wine, and beverage service, including wine pairing and tableside etiquette.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive, professional relationships with members.
