Position Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support a manufacturing facility by promoting a safe, compliant, and proactive workplace. This hands-on role works closely with production teams to strengthen the site's safety culture, ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, investigate incidents, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate enjoys working on the manufacturing floor, coaching employees, and partnering with operations to reduce risk while maintaining productivity.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor by coaching employees and contractors on safe work practices and identifying potential hazards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Perform safety audits, inspections, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and environmental regulations.
- Deliver safety training, support emergency preparedness initiatives, and maintain accurate compliance documentation and reporting.
Key Skills
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and manufacturing safety regulations.
- Experience conducting hazard assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills with employees at all levels.
Education & Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Manufacturing safety experience is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Smartsheet.
- Ability to travel approximately 25% domestically.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
