What are the responsibilities and job description for the CREDENTIALING SPECIALIST position at Riverwood Healthcare Center?
About the Position:
Perform duties relating to provider credentialing and medical staff services as outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws. This position supports the credentialing, privileging, enrollment, and ongoing compliance of medical staff and allied health professionals to ensure safe, high-quality patient care and adherence to state, federal, and accreditation requirements. The role collaborates closely with medical staff leadership, providers, payors, and internal departments to maintain accurate credentials, facilitate appointments, and support regulatory and reimbursement processes.
What we are looking for:
Education and/or Experience:
- Associate’s degree required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Previous experience in medical staff services, credentialing, and/or provider enrollment is preferred.
- Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certification preferred or must be obtained within three (3) years of hire.
- Proficiency with computers and experience using electronic systems and databases; demonstrated ability to learn and use credentialing, enrollment, and office software applications.
