What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teachers and Para-professionals PreK-12--Public Charter/PERA Pension position at Riverway Learning Community Public Charter School?
Substitute teachers are responsible for leading small classes of approximately 20 students in classrooms. A college degree and a substitute license is required. Reimbursement for the sub license is available. Regular teachers provide substitute teaching plans. There is need at elementary, middle, and secondary levels.
Substitute Para-professionals support instruction in the classrooms by working with groups and individuals. A degree is not required, but any post-secondary education it is preferred.
All positions require a resume, references, interview, and background check.
Work hours are approximately 8am-3:15 or 4:15pm. Substitutes are also provided a school lunch for full-days.
We are a small school environment with approximately 10 students per grade level and 2 grade levels per room (multi-age). It is personal, connected, and you work closely with other supporting adults as each room has multiple adults staffed in it.
The jobs are on-call, however, often a one or more day notice is provided for planned absences. Occasionally arrangements need to be made between 7-8am on the same day. This is done directly via phone/text.
