Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including clinical examinations and diagnostic imaging, to determine orthodontic needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing various orthodontic appliances such as braces, aligners, and retainers.
- Perform orthodontic procedures with precision, ensuring optimal outcomes while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
- Collaborate with general dentists and specialists on complex cases involving oral surgery, prosthodontics, or pediatric dentistry when necessary.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Educate patients on treatment options, oral hygiene practices, and post-treatment care to promote long-term oral health.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques during all clinical procedures to ensure a safe environment.
- Stay current with advancements in orthodontic techniques and dental technology by participating in continuing education activities.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as an Orthodontist with certification from an accredited dental school.
- Extensive experience in orthodontic diagnosis, treatment planning, and appliance placement within a dental clinic setting.
- Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical imaging interpretation relevant to orthodontics.
- Familiarity with dental practice management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix is preferred.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and medical documentation procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
