Duties
- Perform root canal treatments and other endodontic procedures with precision, adhering to the highest standards of aseptic technique and infection control.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental history reviews, to develop effective treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
- Utilize advanced dental imaging technology and anatomical knowledge to accurately diagnose endodontic conditions.
- Collaborate with general dentists, pediatric dentists, oral surgeons, and prosthodontists to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Educate patients on their treatment options, post-procedure care, and preventive strategies to promote long-term oral health.
- Stay current with emerging endodontic techniques, dental terminology updates, and industry best practices through ongoing education.
- Uphold strict infection control protocols and maintain a sterile clinical environment during all procedures.
Requirements
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid state licensure to practice dentistry with specialization in endodontics.
- Proven experience in performing root canal therapy, dental extractions, and related procedures within a clinical setting.
- Proficiency in using dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for medical records management.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles and working with pediatric patients is advantageous.
- Excellent patient care skills combined with the ability to assess complex cases effectively.
- Commitment to infection control standards, aseptic technique, and HIPAA compliance in all clinical activities.
