Responsibilities:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning teeth, taking dental x-rays, and applying fluoride treatments
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide recommendations for dental care
- Assist the dentist during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical history and treatment plans
- Follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients
- Collaborate with other dental professionals to provide comprehensive oral health care
Qualifications:
- Valid dental hygiene license in New Mexico
- Associate's degree in dental hygiene from an accredited program
- Strong knowledge of dental assisting techniques and procedures
- Proficiency in using dental office software systems
- Familiarity with dental imaging techniques and interpretation of results
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and other team members
- Commitment to maintaining strict infection control standards in the dental office
