Substitute Teacher (per diem)

We are seeking Per Diem Academic Substitute Teachers to provide academic instruction to adolescents with complex language, learning, and cognitive disabilities. Hourly, non-exempt. Pay range: $20- $30 per hour Candidates who bring advanced expertise or highly specialized skills may be eligible for compensation above the posted range. Essential Job Functions to include: -Provide instruction in a variety of subject areas -Engage in data-driven instruction and meaningful assessment practices -Adapt instruction and materials to meet the individual needs of students -Collaborate and communicate with other team members in addressing the needs of the whole child -Use technology to support and facilitate meaningful learning experiences Key Competencies: -College graduate -Experience working with Special Education population, teaching license a plus -Experience in an independent school environment preferred -Strong ability to incorporate technology into instruction -Exceptional written, interpersonal, and problem solving skills -Ability to handle a fast-paced environment -Passion for Riverview’s mission and the field of special education -Current/valid driver’s license Other Requirements: -Suitable background check (CORI, SORI, DCF and fingerprinting) -Satisfactory references -Legal authorization to work in the US -CPR/AED/Standard First Aid certified or ability to obtain certification Come join our vibrant community!
