Riverview School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Residential Supervisor to provide leadership, coaching, and support to residential staff while helping create a safe, structured, and engaging living environment for students with complex language, learning, and social challenges.
In this role, you will supervise residential staff, promote consistency and accountability across dormitories, and ensure students receive high-quality support that fosters independence, social growth, and overall well-being. Successful candidates will be collaborative leaders who model professionalism, maintain high expectations, and build positive relationships with both students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
-Provide ongoing supervision, coaching, and support to residential staff across campus.
-Promote consistency, fairness, and clear expectations in all interactions with students and staff.
-Train and mentor staff in developing effective dormitory routines, activities, and strategies that support student growth, independence, and positive community living.
-Utilize proactive, positive reinforcement approaches to support student success and address behavioral challenges.
-Conduct regular staff supervision meetings and dormitory observations, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
-Collaborate closely with advisors, teachers, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to support student goals and implement individualized plans.
-Ensure timely, accurate, and confidential communication and documentation.
-Serve as a role model by demonstrating professionalism, maturity, flexibility, sound judgment, and a student-centered approach.
-Support campus operations and assist other departments as needed.
Qualifications:
-Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience, preferably in residential, educational, human services, or related settings.
-Strong communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
-Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff while maintaining accountability and high standards.
-Commitment to an "in loco parentis" philosophy and student-centered approach.
-Proficiency with technology and common software platforms, including Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and student information systems.
-Ability to work flexibly in a dynamic residential school environment.
Requirements:
-Bachelor's degree preferred
-Legal authorization to work in the USA
-Suitable background check (CORI, SORI, DCF) and fingerprinting required
-CPR/AED/Standard First Aid certified or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
-Valid driver's license
-Ability to walk extended distances, climb stairs and navigate a large campus environment.
