Goal:
Provide technology support to foster a learning environment for students, parents, staff, and administrators. Under general supervision, Computer Technicians provide a wide variety of support to provide a technologically advanced learning environment.
Qualifications:
- An associate’s degree in a technology-related field or equivalent advanced technical training is required at minimum. CompTIA A certification is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Windows and Apple devices.
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Entra in a hybrid environment.
- Experience with Exchange, SharePoint, and Office 365 administration.
- Experience troubleshooting network issues related to client devices, DHCP, managed switches, APs and firewall.
- Experience with Universal Print and printer troubleshooting.
- Experience with IP phone management.
- Valid driver’s license and evidence of a good driving record.
- Capability, on a frequent basis, of standing, walking reaching, grasping, handling, gripping, and utilizing repetitive movements of both hands. Stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling (up to 60 pounds). climbing, crawling, lifting (up to 60 pounds). Must be able to travel to any district facility as needed or scheduled.

- Ability to consistently demonstrate tact, courtesy, reliability, and maturity while carrying out assigned duties.

Reports to: Technology Director
Essential Functions:
- Works with and maintains the highest level of confidentiality standards pertaining to student, employee, and family data sources.
- Stays abreast of, supports, revises and modifies all student data to support PIMS reporting, as directed by the Director of Technology and Application Support Coordinator.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems and make necessary repairs and adjustments.
- Install and set up new computers and network equipment, as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all computer systems and peripherals.
- Operate the Technology Department Help Desk system by answering Help Desk phone calls, emails and Help Desk Tickets. Resolve to the best of their ability all hardware and software related issues.
- Elevate and/or assign help desk tickets, as necessary, to best resolve all issues.
- Oversee and perform warranty repairs of computers, laptops, printers, drives, and other technology related peripherals.
- Follow schematics and manufacturer’s specifications.
- Catalog, copy, store, and distribute software and support materials used within the district.
- Assist with the installation, configuration, and operation of hardware, software and network systems, including all aspects of individual local area networks, the wide area network and Internet access to ensure consistency and optimization of resources.
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of an accurate and current inventory of all district computer-related technology hardware and software.
- Provide liaison services with vendors and coordinate repairs with appropriate vendors when unable to make repairs yourself.
- Assist in coordinating all district computer purchases.
- Maintain and support the district phone and voice mail system.
- Keep an accurate inventory of phone equipment.
- Set up all new student and staff accounts and prepare all need technology as required.
- Issue and maintain records of all Technology Usage Agreement forms for all students and staff.
- Maintain a current inventory of all devices received, retired and distributed within the district.
- Maintain yearly “Inventory Change Report” for the Business Manager.
- Provide timely informative technology information to all staff and students.
- Assist in preparing the technology budget and bid lists including hardware, software, software licensing, maintenance and supplies.
- Keep current in the field of technology, including attendance at workshops and training sessions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
