Riverview Nursery School is seeking a warm, experienced, and collaborative Pre-K Teaching Assistant to join our nonprofit, community-based preschool program.

Since opening in 1991, Riverview has grown from serving 28 children to becoming a beloved part of our community, with generations of families passing through our doors. We are proud to embrace the diverse and vibrant families we serve and are deeply committed to creating a nurturing environment where children, families, and teachers feel connected and valued.

At Riverview, we provide a child-centered, play-based curriculum rooted in the belief that play is essential to healthy child development and joyful learning. Our teachers foster curiosity, creativity, confidence, and kindness through meaningful experiences both inside our classrooms and outdoors on our beautiful playground overlooking the Hudson River.

We are looking for a teaching assistant who:

• Supports the lead teachers in establishing warm, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment
• Builds strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues
• Brings creativity, flexibility, and positivity to their work
• Supports the students with patience, compassion, and professionalism
• Enjoys working as part of a close-knit school community

Responsibilities include:

• Help lead teachers with classroom activities and routines
• Organizing and cleaning up after classroom activities
• Helping during lunch/recess period
• Collaborating with teaching staff and administration
• Helping create a safe, joyful, and inclusive classroom culture

Qualifications:

• Experience working in early childhood education
• Background in child development or early childhood education preferred
• A genuine love for working with young children

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:45am - 1:45pm

Pay: $18.00 per hour
