We hire experienced professionals for roles in landscape maintenance, enhancements, snow operations, and field leadership and we are looking for an Payroll Coordinator to join our team.
PAY RANGE:
$58,000 - 62,000 annually
SHIFT:
This is Monday through Friday during standard business hours. Candidates must reside in NY, NJ, MA or CT. This role will be primarily remote with occasional travel as needed.
ROLE SUMMARY:
The Payroll Coordinator will support the accurate and timely processing or payroll. Reporting to the Payroll & Benefits Manager, this position will assist with payroll data entry, new hire setups, employee record maintenance, timekeeping review, and payroll-related inquiries. This opportunity is ideal for someone looking to begin a career in payroll or human resources while gaining hands-on experience in compliance, reporting, and multi-state payroll administration.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with weekly payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees
- Facilitate in the approval of all timekeeping in Aspire to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing
- Enter payroll data including new hires, terminations, rate changes, deductions, and garnishments
- Support multi-state payroll compliance under supervision
- Respond to basic payroll-related employee inquiries; provide customer-service oriented support to managers and employees alike
- Escalate complex payroll or benefit issues to supervisor
- Assist in documenting and processing bonuses, commissions, and expense reimbursements
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records in payroll system
- Ensure proper documentation and record keeping for new hires and status changes
- Assist with the tracking, accrual and use of PTO, sick time and other leaves
- Support year-end processes including reporting and W-2 distribution
- Generate reports as requested
- Provide administrative support to other HR projects as needed
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 1-3 years' experience in professional office environment
- Experience in Excel and other office suite programs
- Experience in labor-intensive industries (e.g. landscaping, construction, manufacturing) preferred
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with remote, office and field employees
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Understanding/speaking Spanish is a plus
