With a 32-acre campus overlooking the Hudson River and a workforce of 1,600, the organization provides nationally recognized services through the Hebrew Home at Riverdale, managed long-term care, assisted living, memory care, elder abuse prevention, and more.
As the Maintenance Man your responsibilities will include performing a variety of general mechanical and preventative maintenance assignments, as well as inspections, repairs, servicing and overhauling of equipment including wheelchairs and walkers. Will make repairs and maintain furniture and equipment using hand and power tools as assigned as well as repairing and installing electrical systems, pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures. Potential candidate will also maintain, repair and install commercial kitchen equipment.

Key Responsibilities
- Reports to designated work area, notifies nurse on floor or appropriate departmental staff and performs assigned tasks
- Reports any malfunctioning equipment to the Maintenance Supervisor, Engineering Assistant Director, and Engineering Director.
- Maintains tools and equipment in proper and safe condition.
- Repairs plumbing fixtures on designated areas.
- Maintains kitchen/pantry equipment such as but not limited to ovens, plate heaters, steam tables, stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, ice makers and coffee makers.
- High School or GED; trade or vocational school graduate or equivalent education & experience.
- Experience in facility maintenance and familiarity with federal, state and local codes and regulations a plus.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must be able to read, write and effectively communicate in English and the ability to effectively present and receive information from residents, families and staff.
