The RiverSpring Living campus is set on 32 acres overlooking the Hudson River, in Riverdale, New York. RiverSpring Living provides a full range of care solutions including nursing home care, assisted living programs, senior housing, rehabilitation services and specialized services such as elder abuse prevention and memory care.
Position Overview
The Life Enrichment Coordinator will engage in the planning, organization, execution, development, and implementation of programs/activities both on-site and off-site, conducive to the promotion of resident wellness and fulfillment. They will support the continuation and strengthening of family ties and friendships, as well as the pursuit of intellectual, social, and recreational interests aimed at maximizing individual potential to remain functionally independent within the setting. The coordinator will continuously assess residents’ daily activity needs, develop and implement new programming to best address these needs.
This role will utilize and operate a computer, tablet, camera, photocopier, fax, scan, telephone, P-Touch, calculator, and audio/video devices. The Life Enrichment Coordinator will need to be knowledgeable and occasionally handle technical (e.g., electronic) equipment used in daily resident activities. Ability to operate various operating systems, streaming services, and web-based programs, including but not limited to Canva, Go Icon, and Apple TV.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring activities are running smoothly
- Visit with residents to encourage attendance at ALR activities
- Complete daily program attendance
- Orient new residents to activities that are available within the ALR setting and within the HHAR facility.
- Plan and provide individual/group treatment services via one-to-one interaction/discussion groups to improve social, emotional, cognitive, and physical functional behaviors.
- Inform residents of changes to scheduled activities in a timely manner
- Complete recreation assessments and quarterly documentation
- Oversee programming when the consultant is present {entertainment, Horticultural Therapy}
- Assist with establishing/distributing a monthly activity calendar with functional recreation programs with a therapeutic approach no later than the first of the month.
- High School Diploma Required.
- Preferred Associates degree (AA/AS) from four-year College or university preferred with a major in recreation, therapeutic activities, creative arts or a related field with a minimum of three years’ of related work experience and/or training in therapeutic activities/recreation, programming and the running of activities for the geriatric population and one year of related supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to use computer hardware and software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, E-mail, Access, and PowerPoint.
- $25.00 Hourly
