Position Summary
We are seeking a creative, technically strong Social Media and Marketing Coordinator to lead Riverside's digital presence, content production, and marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate combines storytelling talent with advanced knowledge of digital tools, AI applications, and media software, and can turn daily cadet life, athletics, events, and achievements into compelling content for families, alumni, and prospective cadets in the U.S. and abroad.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media and Content
- Manage and grow Riverside's accounts on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and X
- Plan and maintain a content calendar covering admissions, academics, athletics (including polo and equestrian), parades, ceremonies, and alumni news
- Photograph, film, and edit content on campus, including events, drill, sports, and cadet life
- Write captions, posts, newsletters, press releases, and website updates
- Engage with followers, monitor comments, and protect the Academy's reputation online
Marketing and Campaigns
- Support enrollment campaigns, domestic and international, including digital advertising and targeted outreach in priority countries
- Run paid campaigns on Meta, Google, YouTube, and LinkedIn; manage budgets and report results
- Promote major events such as the Summit, Homecoming, Gala, and Parents' Weekend
- Coordinate with Admissions, Advancement, and the Commandant's office on messaging and assets
- Maintain brand standards across all digital and printed materials
Technology and AI
- Use AI tools to accelerate content creation, translation, video editing, captioning, and analytics
- Manage the website CMS and ensure content is current, optimized for search, and mobile friendly
- Maintain email marketing and CRM platforms for families, prospects, and alumni
- Track analytics and produce monthly performance reports with clear recommendations
- Provide basic technical support for media equipment, livestreams, and event AV
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 2 years of social media or digital marketing experience, preferably in education, nonprofit, or hospitality
- Strong portfolio of social content, video, and design work
- Proficiency in:
- Design and video: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, After Effects), Canva, CapCut or DaVinci Resolve
- AI tools: ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney or Adobe Firefly, Descript, and AI video and captioning tools
- Social and scheduling: Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite or Sprout Social, Later
- Web and email: WordPress or similar CMS, Mailchimp or Constant Contact, basic HTML
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4, Meta Insights, Google Ads
- General IT: Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, file management, cloud storage
- Excellent writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
- Availability for occasional evening and weekend events
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with international or multilingual marketing (Arabic, Spanish, or French a plus)
- Drone photography license (FAA Part 107)
- Livestreaming experience (OBS, YouTube Live, StreamYard)
- CRM experience (Salesforce, Blackbaud, or similar)
- Familiarity with military culture, or military or JROTC background
