NIGHT AUDITOR
JOB SUMMARY
The Night Auditor is responsible for posting room charges to guest accounts, tracking statistics, balancing and closing out accounts at the end of the day, checking guests in and out, taking reservations, assigning rooms, providing information on room rates and all services provided. Front Office personnel have the most contact with guests. It is important that they make a good impression and ensure that all guests’ needs are being met.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Night Auditor reports directly to the General Manager and Assistant General Manager. The Night Auditor works with team members at the Front Desk and in Housekeeping, Laundry, Maintenance and the Corporate Office.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Take reservations via phone and in person
- Greet and register guests as they arrive
- Receive and process payment for accommodation
- Handle cash and make change
- Answer guest questions and handle requests
- Post room charges and taxes to guest accounts
- Process guest and credit card charges
- Verify all charges are posted correctly
- Verify all account postings and balances
- Track room revenue, occupancy percentages and other statistics
- Prepare end of day reports
- Prepare Daily Reports and email them to approved recipients
- Maintain room inventory
- Be familiar with frequent-stay guest programs and special packages
- Maintain the appearance of the lobby
- Handle beverage and/or gift shop sales
- Make coffee / Assist with continental breakfast
- Perform regular property walks
- Perform other duties as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous related work experience
- High School Diploma or GED
REQUIRED LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS
- Food Handler’s Card (will be completed once hired)
- Must pass a criminal background check
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work can require standing for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Primary worksite is indoors
WORK HOURS AND WAGE
- Night shifts, weekends and holidays
- Hourly position, Non-Exempt
- $16.25 per hour
