POSITION: FRONT OFFICE/SCHOOL BOOKKEEPER
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 11 MONTHS
REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL AND FINANCE OFFICER
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Duties include advanced clerical and secretarial tasks. An employee in this classification is responsible for varied clerical and secretarial work. Relatively complex clerical records are maintained with strict adherence to established policies, procedures, and requirements. Work is subject to a general review although the employee exercises independence in the handling of routine work matters. This position requires the person to possess strong technology and financial skills.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain an accurate record of all receipts and disbursements in compliance with the “Local Government Budget and Fiscal Control Act”
- Work with Principal(s) and School Improvement Teams to prepare budget
- Transfer funds within the accounts as directed by the Principal(s)
- Collects, distributes, receipts, and deposits money according to local policy
- Handles requisitions and purchase orders according to guidelines
- Order materials and distributes or stores as directed by the Principal(s)
- Balancing accounts and reporting balances for specific accounts
- Manages Athletic accounts
- Tracking Sales Tax
- Prepare for yearly audit
- Track staff attendance and substitutes to prepare and process payroll
- Receives and disseminates, locates, identifies, and delivers appropriate information
- Maintains a positive interpersonal relationships with co-workers, parents, and community
- Work with Finance Officer, Auditors, Principal(s) and school personnel as needed
- Takes advantage of learning opportunities
- Greet visitors and direct appropriately
