Young Adult Peer Mentor - Family After School Program
Great opportunity to join Riverside Community Care as a Young Adult Peer Mentor for our amazing Family After School Program!
Riverside’s Family After-School Program provides a structured, therapeutic after-school environment for children ages 6–12 in the Cambridge and Somerville communities who have experienced challenges such as neglect, homelessness, and trauma. The program offers clinically intensive, trauma-informed services that help children build coping skills, self-expression, and healthy peer relationships, while actively engaging families through regular events and collaboration.
In this vital role, the Young Adult Peer Mentor supports youth as they navigate their treatment journey, offering outreach, advocacy, and peer support aligned with each individual's action plan.
The Young Adult Peer Mentor Will

- p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0"> Collaborate closely with the clinical team and using lived experience as a positive model for individuals' served growth and recovery.
- p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0"> Provide transportation (pick-up and drop-off) from school to the program, from the program to their homes, and field trips
- School Year Hours: 2-6pm; Summer Hours: 1-5pm

Required Skills
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Certification as a Peer Specialist which can be attained after hire
- Valid Massachusetts driver’s license and regular access to reliable personal vehicle
- Experience living with and recovering from mental health needs, substance use, and or traumatic life concerns which caused challenge in one or more areas of life
- High School Degree/GED required, Bachelors preferred
- One year experience working with target population preferred
