Position Overview
Our paid externship program provides a rich and rewarding hands-on learning experience and the opportunity to learn about our organization. Our teacher externs work under the close direction of an experienced supervisor/manager to receive an overview of the different components of the organization.
Wage: $25/hr
Internship Duration: Summer 2026 (June 24th- July 26th)
Essential Functions
- Learn about all lines of business including transportation, production, and commercial.
- Explore other areas of operation including safety and human resources.
- Learn about the various Oregon Employability Skills.
- Learn about the Oregon State Construction Management Program
- Learn about Community College Programs, as they relate to positions at RiverBend.
- Other learning opportunities and duties, as assigned.
- Regular and timely attendance.
- Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be available to work between 20 and 40 hours per week.
- Must have high attention to detail.
- Ability to perform intermediate mathematical skills, including basic algebra.
- Must have a current and valid driver’s license.
- Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
- Must pass post offer pre-employment controlled substance testing.
- Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.

- Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions while observing various jobs.
- The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud when visiting work sites, personal protective equipment will be provided by our team. However, please have a pair of steel toed boots to prepare for the externship.
