GROUNDSKEEPER/SITE
JOB SUMMARY
Groundskeeper, under supervision of the Supervisor of Maintenance/Operations/Transportation or designee, performs a wide variety of specialized and responsible tasks relating to the District Grounds and Maintenance Operations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and Application of:
District policies and procedures as they apply; Methods and practices of lawn, garden, tool and equipment management; Operation of tools and equipment used in landscape and garden maintenance; Oral and written communication skills; Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; Proper methods and use of sprinklers, valves, controllers, backflows and pumps; Basic knowledge of herbicides.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION
May include, but are not limited to:
1.Performs a wide variety of specialized maintenance service tasks; interpret and apply rules and regulations as appropriate.
2.Maintains school equipment throughout the District
3.Maintains a clean, orderly work area
4.Operates a variety of grounds/landscape equipment, tools, and machines
5.Repairs and installs fencing
6.Digs ditches and trenches
7.Monitor all site ground area for safety, maintenance, and improvement
8.May assist in the kitchen as necessary
9.Responsible for periodic grounds chemical spraying activities
10.Performs related duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required; Two (2) years of maintenance repair experience and one (1) year of school grounds maintenance or gardening.
Conditions of Employment:
Possession of a valid California Drivers License required
Possession of Qualified Applicator License/Certificate Permit: Category B required
