Position Summary
River Valley Charter School, a public Montessori school serving 288 students in grades K–8, seeks Lead Teachers for the 2026–2027 school year. Responsibilities
•Design and maintain a prepared Montessori environment that supports hands-on, inquiry-based learning
•Observe, guide, and assess students’ academic, social, and emotional development
•Establish a classroom culture grounded in respect, independence, and collaboration
•Communicate regularly with families and build strong partnerships
•Collaborate with assistant teachers, specialists, and administrators
•Participate in ongoing professional development, including school observations
Qualifications Required:
•Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
•Montessori certification (AMS, AMI, or MACTE-accredited) in the applicable level
•Strong classroom management and student-centered approach
•Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred:
•2 years of teaching experience (Montessori preferred)
•Massachusetts teaching license (or eligibility)
•Experience in a public or charter school
•Familiarity with differentiated instruction and inclusive practices
