We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as Weekend Supervisor in our healthcare facility. Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing personnel during weekend shifts, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Coordinate patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation in accordance with hospital protocols and EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Oversee medication administration, IV infusion procedures, catheter care, and other clinical interventions with precision and adherence to safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control policies to protect patient confidentiality and promote a safe environment.
- Facilitate communication among interdisciplinary teams including physicians, case managers, and ancillary staff to coordinate discharge planning and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate medical records, document incidents or adverse events, and participate in quality assurance activities aligned with NCQA standards.
- Provide mentorship and supervision to nursing staff, fostering a collaborative team environment while promoting professional development.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations such as airway management or acute pain management needs, utilizing skills acquired through ICU or trauma center experience.
Qualifications
- Valid RN licensure with current registration; prior supervisory or team management experience preferred.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in critical care settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; experience in emergency medicine or hospital medicine is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to acute care environments.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics (PICU), neonatal ventilator management, dementia care, or behavioral health settings.
- Skills in patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, specimen collection/processing, and basic life support (BLS).
- Excellent leadership abilities with supervising experience in medical-surgical units or long-term care facilities; ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of infection control practices, sterile technique, and aseptic procedures essential for maintaining safety standards.
