River Club of Mequon is seeking a motivated and skilled Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef in overseeing daily culinary operations. This role plays a key part in maintaining high standards of food quality, kitchen organization, and team leadership while delivering exceptional dining experiences for members, guests, and private events.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations
- Supervise and support kitchen staff during food preparation and service
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency meet club standards
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, and food cost control
- Maintain proper food handling and sanitation standards in accordance with health regulations
- Help train and mentor kitchen staff to promote a positive and efficient work environment
- Assist with banquet and event food preparation as needed
- Ensure kitchen areas remain clean, organized, and well maintained
Qualifications
- 2 years of culinary experience in a restaurant, club, or hospitality environment
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per hour
