River City Physical Therapy is growing, and we are looking for a motivated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our family-owned practice in Post Falls, just minutes from Lake Coeur d’Alene.
We have served North Idaho for more than 30 years, and we are now preparing for an exciting next chapter with a brand new facility designed around modern physical therapy, active rehabilitation, strength, performance, and long term patient outcomes.
Our goal is simple: give great clinicians the time, tools, and environment they need to provide excellent care without burning themselves out.
What Makes River City Different?
✔ Manageable Patient Loads
Our clinicians are not expected to move through an overloaded schedule all day. We prioritize reasonable patient volumes so you can spend more focused time with each person.
✔ More One-on-One Patient Care
Our PTAs play an active role in the rehabilitation process and have the opportunity to build real relationships with their patients, progress treatment sessions, and see patients improve over time.
✔ Family & PT-Owned Practice
We are not owned by a private equity group or large corporate organization. Decisions are made locally by people who understand physical therapy and care about the clinicians working here.
✔ Strong Compensation & Benefits
We offer competitive compensation at the top end of the local market along with excellent benefits.
✔ Brand New State-of-the-Art Facility Coming Soon
Our new clinic is being designed to feature one of the largest open PT gym environments in North Idaho.

About the Position
As a Physical Therapist Assistant at River City, you will work closely with our Physical Therapists to carry out individualized plans of care and provide direct, hands-on treatment to a wide range of outpatient orthopedic patients.
Our PTAs are an important part of the clinical team. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of treatment sessions, progress exercises and activities within the established plan of care, educate patients, and build meaningful relationships throughout the rehabilitation process.
Our clinicians work with patients recovering from:
- Sports injuries
- Post surgical rehabilitation
- Spine and joint conditions
- Work related injuries
- Strength and mobility limitations
- Return to sport and performance
- General orthopedic conditions
We want our PTAs to feel like valued clinicians, not simply assistants moving patients through a schedule.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled treatment under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist
- Carry out established plans of care
- Progress therapeutic exercises and activities appropriately within the plan of care
- Provide hands-on treatment and neuromuscular reeducation as appropriate
- Educate patients on exercise, movement, recovery, and home programs
- Monitor patient response and communicate progress with the supervising PT
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Collaborate closely with PTs and other members of the care team
- Help create a positive and supportive clinic culture
- Contribute to the continued growth of River City Physical Therapy
What We Are Looking For
- Licensed or license eligible Physical Therapist Assistant in Idaho
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Team oriented mindset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to high quality, individualized patient care
- Passion for professional growth
- Interest in orthopedics, sports medicine, post surgical rehab, spine care, or other specialty areas is a plus
New graduates and experienced PTAs are both encouraged to apply.
Why River City?
We believe clinicians do their best work when they are supported, not overloaded.
That means manageable patient volumes, more focused time with patients, built-in documentation time, protected lunch, strong compensation, good benefits, and leadership that understands the day to day realities of outpatient physical therapy.
We are building something new and exciting in North Idaho, and we want great PTAs to grow with us.
If you are looking for a PTA position where you can play a meaningful role in your patients’ recovery, avoid the high volume burnout model, and be part of the next chapter of a locally owned practice, we would love to connect.
