Position Overview
The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is responsible for leading Riveer’s quality management system (QMS), ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015, customer specifications, and internal standards of excellence. This role oversees quality processes across the organization, including documentation control, supplier quality, inspections, audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. The QA Manager works cross-functionally with engineering, production, service, and operations to foster a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead for ISO 9001:2015, to include certification, surveillance, and re-certification audits.
- Maintain and continuously improve Riveer’s QMS.
- Develop and monitor quality objectives, metrics, and reporting.
- Plan, conduct, and document internal audits; manage external audit processes.
- Coordinate management reviews, ensuring leadership engagement with ISO performance and opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee incoming inspection, in-process quality checks, and final product inspections
- Develop, implement, and enforce quality standards and inspection criteria to ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements.
- Ensure calibration of measuring and test equipment is up to date and properly documented.
- Investigate nonconforming products/processes, lead root cause analysis, and ensure corrective/preventive actions are implemented and effective.
- Evaluate and monitor supplier performance, including audits and corrective actions.
- Partner with purchasing to qualify new vendors and maintain Approved Supplier List.
- Ensure raw materials, parts, and subcontracted services meet Riveer’s quality standards.
- Champion Lean and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve processes, and drive efficiency.
- Lead cross-functional teams to address recurring quality issues.
- Train and mentor employees on quality standards, ISO processes, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Lead the quality department
- Work with service to address issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Communicate clearly with leadership, employees, suppliers, and customers regarding quality concerns and improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing quality management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience with ISO 9001:2015 implementation, certification, and audits.
- Strong knowledge of root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, and continuous improvement methods.
- Familiarity with fabrication, assembly, and coatings (welding, powder coating, pretreatment).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASQ Certification (CQE, CQA, or CMQ/OE).
- Experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
- Knowledge of aerospace, defense, or industrial equipment quality requirements.
