The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all equipment, tools, transportation assets, and facility grounds within a modular home manufacturing facility. This position requires a hands-on leader who can diagnose issues quickly, develop practical solutions, and support continuous production flow. The Maintenance Manager plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, maintaining compliance, and improving overall plant performance.
Core Responsibilities
- Preventative Maintenance (PM) Management
- Develop, implement, and manage preventative maintenance schedules for all production equipment.
- Perform and oversee routine inspections to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Maintain and service overhead cranes and hoists, ensuring compliance with safety standards and load ratings.
- Establish and execute PM programs for:
- Glue pumps
- Paint pumps
- Compactors
- General production equipment
- Oversee tool repair and preventative maintenance programs to ensure tools are functional, safe, and readily available for production.
- Track maintenance performance and identify trends for continuous improvement.
- Custom FabricationTooling
- Design and fabricate custom tooling to support modular home assembly processes.
- Build and modify racks, carts, and storage systems to improve workflow and space utilization.
- Provide hands-on support to production teams with custom solutions that improve efficiency and reduce labor strain.
- Continuously evaluate and improve tooling and material handling systems.
- FleetLogistics Maintenance
- Maintain and service company transportation carriers used to deliver modular units.
- Develop and execute preventative maintenance schedules for fleet vehicles and yard tractors.
- Perform basic mechanical repairs on trailers, vehicles, and transport equipment.
- Ensure all fleet equipment is road-ready and compliant with applicable regulations.
- Coordinate inspections and repairs to avoid transportation delays.
- GroundsFacility Management
- Oversee the maintenance, cleanliness, and organization of all exterior facility areas.
- Coordinate and manage vendors for:
- Lawn care
- Snow removal
- Ensure parking areas, yards, and surrounding grounds are safe, accessible, and well-maintained.
- Support overall yard organization to align with production and shipping needs.
- SafetyCompliance
- Serve as an active member of the Safety Committee.

Required SkillsQualifications
Technical Skills
