Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Independent Drayage Sales Representative to generate new business and develop long-term customer relationships.
This is a 1099 independent contractor role designed for a self-driven sales professional who understands the logistics industry and is comfortable building and managing their own book of business.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, prospect, and onboard new customers (importers, exporters, freight forwarders, 3PLs, brokers)
- Develop and manage a pipeline of drayage opportunities (local and OTR container moves)
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships to drive repeat business
- Collaborate with Ritehaul’s operations team to ensure service alignment and execution
- Negotiate pricing based on market conditions and service capabilities
- Stay informed on port activity, market trends, and customer needs
- Continuously grow and manage a personal book of business
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in logistics, freight brokerage, or drayage sales preferred
- Existing customer relationships or book of business is a strong plus
- Understanding of container drayage operations (ports, terminals, chassis, etc.) preferred
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated and able to operate independently
- Results-driven with a focus on revenue generation
Compensation
- Commission-based compensation (uncapped earning potential)
- Paid per load or based on revenue/margin, depending on experience and structure
- High upside for producers who generate consistent volume
Independent Contractor Structure
- This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not a W-2 employee role
- The representative will manage their own schedule, sales approach, and business development activities
- Contractor is responsible for their own taxes and business expenses
- This role is non-exclusive unless otherwise agreed upon
