RiteChoice is launching a new pharmacy in 2026 and is seeking a pharmacy technician to support the opening and ongoing success of this new location.
You will work at a health center pharmacy and be a part of the clinical care team. You will have access to the patient’s electronic medical records and work alongside physicians, dentists, and behavioral health specialists to ensure the best treatment for our patients.
RiteChoice Pharmacy is a fast-growing independent 340B pharmacy that partners with community health centers and providers across Philadelphia and surrounding areas. Our mission is to provide fast, friendly, and affordable services to the communities we serve.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized and reliable Staff Technician who can make our patients feel at home with our pharmacy. Familiarity with the 340B program is a plus, but we will teach you everything you need to know to be successful. OVERVIEW
The Staff Pharmacy Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the daily pharmacy operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position is responsible for prescription preparation, inventory control, training participation, customer service, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy procedures and regulatory standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Pharmacy Operations
- Accurately and efficiently fill prescriptions and prepare medications under the direction of a licensed pharmacist.
- Type patient scripts with precision, ensuring correct dosage and labeling.
- Enter new patient information and update demographic details accurately.
- Process patient refill requests and conduct comprehensive profile reviews.
- Process prescriptions with insurance companies, resolving coverage issues promptly.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, restocking, and removal of outdated medications.
- Collect and record patient co-pays, maintaining financial accuracy.
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety within the pharmacy.
Professional Standards
· Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor at all times.
· Refrain from tardiness and use of personal phones on the floor.
· Act as a role model for peers in behavior and conduct.
· Complete all daily tasks, including Station Checklists and Opener/Closer tasks.
Customer Service
· Provide courteous and informed service to patients and healthcare providers.
· Assist with insurance claim processing, including eligibility verification and submission.
· Support the Pharmacist with patient transactions and follow-ups.
- Display and distribute educational materials to enhance patient understanding of RiteChoice services.
Collaboration and Communication
· Communicate effectively with the Lead Technician and Pharmacy Manager.
· Complete all delegated digital and physical tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
· Support Lead Technician with administrative responsibilities (e.g., driver logs, receipts).
· Report issues promptly for resolution.
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential, required.
· Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience; experience with the 340B program is highly desirable
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
· Familiarity with RX30 or ability to quickly learn new pharmacy software
· Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment
· Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and perform occasional travel between RiteChoice locations.
· Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
