THE BASICS
Pay: In this human resources role, you'll help shape the foundation of a vibrant, child-centered workplace while earning $22 per hour.
Schedule: As our HR Specialist, you will work in-office, onsite at Rising Star Preschool, Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. This full-time schedule offers you consistency and the opportunity to be an integral part of our preschool community every day.

YOUR DAY AS AN HR SPECIALIST
In this human resources role, you will immerse yourself in a dynamic environment, sourcing, screening, and hiring qualified preschool teachers and support staff to ensure classrooms are always well-staffed. You will coordinate interviews, background checks, and onboarding, making sure our staffing levels meet licensing and ratio requirements. Your day will include facilitating new hire orientation specific to early childhood education, maintaining essential training records, and supporting ongoing professional development for staff. You will ensure strict compliance with local childcare regulations and labor laws, manage employee files, contracts, and documentation, and track clearances. As a valued team member, you will address staff concerns and performance issues, promote a positive, child-centered workplace culture, and assist with evaluations and improvement plans. You will also support payroll processing, attendance tracking, benefits administration, and help implement HR policies and procedures to keep our preschool running smoothly.
REQUIREMENTS FOR AN HR SPECIALIST
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
Preferred:
- Experience in early childhood education or childcare settings
- Professional HR certification, such as SHRM-CP or PHR
- Knowledge of childcare licensing regulations and staff-to-child ratio requirements
- Experience with HRIS systems and payroll software
