Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated LVN Charge Nurse for night shifts to lead and coordinate nursing care within our facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. As a Charge Nurse, you will oversee nursing operations during your shift, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and support staff in providing optimal resident outcomes.
Duties
- Supervise nursing staff during night shifts, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care.
- Coordinate resident assessments, medication administration, and treatment plans in accordance with facility policies and healthcare standards.
- Oversee documentation processes using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Point Click Care
- Respond promptly to resident needs, including managing acute pain, infection control issues, and emergency situations such as airway management or ventilator support.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and specialized care such as Alzheimer’s or memory care.
- Ensure compliance with long-term care regulations, HIPAA policies, and safety protocols including basic life support (BLS) and sterile techniques.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to nursing staff to promote professional development and maintain high standards of care.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with geriatric patients in skilled nursing facilities or long-term care settings.
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills for effective caregiver communication and team coordination.
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and medical documentation accurately.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays; dementia or Alzheimer’s care expertise is highly valued.
- Knowledge of infection control policies, IV infusion techniques, catheterization procedures, and sterile processing practices.
