Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) Charge Nurse for night shifts to lead our nursing team with professionalism and expertise. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care in a dynamic healthcare setting. As the LVN Charge Nurse, you will oversee nursing operations during your shift, coordinate patient care activities, and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff during night shifts, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Coordinate patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols.
- Oversee documentation processes using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring accuracy and completeness of medical records.
- Manage emergency situations effectively, including airway management, acute pain control, and first aid procedures.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans tailored to residents' needs, including dementia care and Alzheimer's care.
- Ensure compliance with long-term care regulations, HIPAA confidentiality policies, and infection control standards.
- Facilitate communication between staff members, residents, families, and physicians to promote transparency and trust.
Skills
- Proven experience working with geriatric patients in skilled nursing facilities or long-term care environments.
- Strong clinical knowledge including IV infusion techniques, catheterization, tube feeding, and sterile processing.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation.
- Experience in critical care settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for medical records management.
- Ability to handle complex cases involving acute pain management, infectious disease care, and respiratory support including ventilator management.
- Excellent leadership skills combined with effective caregiver communication and team coordination abilities.
