Key Responsibilities:
- General Accounting:
- Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for corporate operations and support property-level accounting as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Support the Corporate Controller in analyzing financial data and identifying trends or discrepancies.
- Assist in preparing reports for internal stakeholders and external audits.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable Support:
- Assist with accounts payable processes, including invoice verification, coding, and payment preparation.
- Support accounts receivable functions, including billing, collections, and reconciliation.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor payments and customer invoices.
- Compliance & Audit Support:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including tax filings and gaming industry requirements.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, schedules, and explanations as needed.
- Maintain proper documentation to support audit trails and regulatory compliance.
- Budgeting & Forecasting Support:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts for the corporate office and properties.
- Provide data and analysis to support variance reporting and budget tracking.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Assist in the implementation of new accounting software or system enhancements.
- Collaborate with the finance team to maintain and update accounting policies and procedures.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with property-level finance teams to ensure consistency in accounting practices.
- Support other departments (e.g., HR, operations) with financial data and reporting needs.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support for corporate initiatives as directed by the Corporate Controller.
