Mainframe System SpecialistLong Term contract.100% Remote job Job Description:MUST HAVE: ADABAS Natural platformResponsible for Application Lifecycle Management of the Train Reporting System (TRS) – an ADABAS Natural platform. This responsivity includes analysis and documentation of the current system in order to provide recommendations and subsequent improvements to the TRS. Identify modules of the TRS that are candidates for deployment to other technologies as well as reengineered ADABAS Natural modules. Train schedule management needs to be revitalized for maintenance reporting to include off line and trains under maintenance. TQS – Test and Qualification system (ADABAS Natural) needs a business review for current business needs and possible re-write or replacement. Responsibility includes meeting directly with end users and assessment of business requirements and any needed implementations. Bus systems Vehicle Maintenance System (VMIS) currently is in need of system documentation and evaluation for either replacement or maintenance of short term requirements regarding centralized and preventative maintenance. The VMIS systems currently tracks all Bus assets and maintenance schedules. Several interfaces need either replacement or upgrading based on recommendations or new downstream systems requirements. Assist Finance IT regarding CPAS assessment for replacement or short-term maintenance and bug fix requirements. Mentor NJT personnel and provides technical assistance as needed. Coordinates project tasks between IT managers, Technical Services, Rail Operations, and other NJ Transit departments. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:Bachelors level degree and seven or more years of progressive supervisory experience in implementing large scale information technology projects. Project planning experience for enterprise-wide applications and experience in multi-platform application environments is required. Experience with Transportation Systems such as applications for Bus/Fleet/Rail maintenance, asset management, Rail crew management, train dispatching (and more) is a plus and with strong analytical problem-solving skills. Hands-on technical experience with ADABAS / Natural and documentation with formal proposals for improvement are necessary for success.
